UDALGURI, Aug 25 � The Congress workers in the BTC region believe that they are deprived of their rights and if the BTC authority does not respond to the due rights of the Congress workers, they would launch a democratic movement against it. This was echoed in a press release issued by Bisti Kumar Basumatary, president of Udalguri district Congress committee on August 19 last.
The Congress press release stated that since the Congress party in the State has taken the BPF as the partner of the Government even after it emerged as the single largest party to form the government alone and has given an important portfolio of the ministry to the BPF, but contrary to it, the BPF has curtailed the due rights of the national party in the BTC region by depriving them of holding the positions in the VCDC and TLCC level. Not only that, the BPF also curtailed the portfolio of the lone Congress Executive Member in the BTC assembly by allotting him a less important portfolio having no direct public relations.
�The BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary has murdered the democracy in the BTC region and has launched dictatorship to which the Udalguri district Congress committee condemns and draw the attention of the higher authority to solve this problem at the earliest failing which the Congress workers will be forced to launch democratic movement�, the press release added.
