KOKRAJHAR, Feb 14 � The ruling Congress will support the Bodo People�s Front (BPF), the ally in the state cabinet, in the ensuing Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) election scheduled in next April.
�The Congress will support the BPF headed by BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary in the council election�, government spokesman and senior minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on the occasion of the third annual conference of the BPF here.
The BPF is an ally of the Congress in the state cabinet.
There will be seat sharing and friendly contest between the Congress and the BPF, Sarma said and urged the people to support the two parties in the poll.
Speaking on the occasion Mohilary hoped that the alliance between the two parties will pave the way for all-round development of the Bodoland area. He also hoped that different militant outfits would come forward for talks. � PTI
