Cong to seek white paper on Article 371

DIMAPUR, Sept 14 - The Congress will seek a white paper from the BJP Government on special provisions provided under Article 371 of the Constitution in respect of the North Eastern States.

Nagaland Congress president K Therie, in a release today, said the decision was taken at a meeting of Congress leaders of the North East in New Delhi on Friday. The meeting, called by party president Sonia Gandhi, was chaired by former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

Senior party leaders AK Anthony, Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal were also present in the meeting, which discussed the NRC, Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, Naga peace process and special category provisions and the impact on development and economy.
