DIPHU, April 10 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal addressed three back-to-back election rallies in the hills of Assam to cover Dima Hasao, West Karbi Anglong and Karbi Anglong autonomous hill districts which constitute the Diphu parliamentary constituency. The Chief Minister addressed rallies at Bakalia under Diphu assembly constituency, Kherani of Baithalangso LAC and at Haflong in support of BJP candidate Horensing Bey.

Sonowal while addressing the BJP election rally held at Bakalia strangely enough criticised the 70 year-long misrule of the Congress party in the country. Similarly, Sonowal mentioned that the espousing a discriminatory strategy, the Congress had pushed the hill districts of Assam towards backwardness. He stated that the trouble-torn hill districts have begun its journey towards normalcy with momentous all-round development after the BJP assumed power.

Seeking massive support from all sections of people for the BJP candidate, Sonowal held that without a strong and determined government, living with self-respect is impossible for the people of Assam. The BJP government headed by Prime Narendra Modi is a dedicated, decisive and self-determined government, for leading the country towards a new India so the victory of BJP is enormously requisite for the existence of the nation, Sonowal said.

The hill districts of Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao considered to be advanced districts now in the benchmark of development in the State after the BJP came to power. He said that the BJP is committed towards equal development of all 33 districts of the State. As Prime Minister, Narendra Modi promised maximum development round the clock have been ensured in the state along with other states of the North-east India, Sonowal affirmed.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that a number of sugarcane farmers from Karbi Anglong met him a few days back in Guwahati regarding their problems. He assured to solve their problems, he said.

Meanwhile, seeking vote from the public, Sonowal urged people of Karbi Anglong to cast their votes for favour of the BJP candidate Horensing Bey in the ensuing parliamentary election.

The rally was also addressed by Hill Areas Development Minister Sum Ronghang and Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council.

Our Haflong Correspondent adds: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal campaigning for BJP candidate for No. 3 Autonomous Districts (ST) Parliamentary Constituency, Horensing Bey, today addressed a public rally at Haflong.

Addressing the rally at Lal Field Haflong, Sonowal criticised the Congress saying that it had no sentiments for the Northeast and its people as the party had kept the entire area deprived for the last 55 years.

He claimed that whatever Prime Minister Modi had promised, he delivered in five years.

Saying that he felt proud of the Balakot air strikes, which was a big slap on the face of the nation�s enemies.

He urged the people to vote for the BJP for development, peace, progress and security for the district and the people of country.

This time a total of 1,37,317 persons including 69,342 males and 67,975 females will exercise their voting rights in 242 different polling stations in the district of Dima Hasao.
