Cong on a comeback trail: Ripun Bora

By Correspondent

SIVASAGAR, Aug 14 - Temporarily out of power, Congress will bounce back as it is on a comeback trail now, said Ripun Bora, State Congress chief and MP at a press meet at Sivasagar recently. The people will get to know about the wave of a resurgent Congress after the Independence Day celebrations. Our people are rejecting the saffron brigade everywhere for its false pre-election promises and emotional blackmailing, he added. The people have now realised that Union Minister Nitin Gadkaris foundation-laying ceremonies for Kamalabari-Nimatighat bridge and Disungmukh-Tekeliphuta bridge were a hoax, Bora said. The four-laning work of the National Highway has been going on at a snails speed since the BJP took over political leadership in the State, he said.

On the AIUDF connection, Bora said that Congress will enter into a grand alliance of various political parties among which AIUDF will be one and the alliance will be on a Common Minimum Programme and a common agenda to oust BJP.

The MP said that a frustrated Finance Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma is doling out Rs 830 to each family under the Arunudoi scheme but this additional expenditure will have to be borne by the common tax payers by way of soaring price rise of essential commodities in the State. Terming the BJP leaders as a gang of deceivers, Bora said that there has been a major conspiracy regarding the corona pandemic in the State and even the Leader of the Opposition Debabrat Saikia was compelled to go on quarantine for 14 days. His party has demanded a white paper on all COVID-19 related expenditures, Bora added.
