Cong misrule pushed Assam back: Sonowal

NAGAON, April 12 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today launched a non-stop election campaign at various places for the party candidate of Nagaon parliamentary constituency, Rupak Sarma in Hojai and Nagaon respectively and urged the voters to vote for BJP only for better governance under Narendra Modi�s leadership again as well as equal development for all irrespective of castes, communities and religions.

Addressing a huge election rally in the afternoon at Dakhinpat Chariali in Nagaon, Sonowal criticised the Opposition Congress and said that it was the misrule of Congress that pushed Assam backwards after it got charge of a state having abundant wealth and natural resources left by the British during its rule in the country. Congress means misrule, Congress means dynasty and Congress means inequality, Sonowal reiterated. He said that the people of Assam had unabated faith in Modi�s leadership and Modi had also touched the hearts of the people of the State for which slogans like �Once again Modi Sarkar� were being echoed everywhere.

Appreciating the work of Rupak Sarma, the party candidate for Nagaon parliamentary constituency, Sonowal said that it was because of the bold initiatives of Sarma that the construction of Medical College, Engineering college were going on in Nagaon. Forecasting Rupak Sarma's win this time in Nagaon, he said, Sarma is the best representative of Nagaon who can highlight the banks of the mighty river Mohabahu Brahmaputra on the floor of New Delhi.

In the rally, UP�s minister and the state BJP observer Dr Mahendra Singh, candidate, Rupak Sarma, actor Jatin Bora and other AGP-BJP leaders were present. Earlier, Sonowal also addressed two election rallies held at Hojai and Kampur. Interestingly in the evening, Sonowal also took part in a citizens� meet held at Khagen Mahanta auditorium in Nagaon town.
