Cong-led Govt has failed on all fronts: AIUDF

By A Correspondent

NILAMBAZAR, Oct 30 The AIUDF workers on Friday came out all guns blazing at the Congress as the party managed to put up quite a considerable show of its might at the day-long meet of the cadres of the Karimganj district unit of the party, the youth front and the students wing.

The meeting was presided over by Sayed Siddeque Ahmed. He shared the dais with other party leaders including Hafiz Rashid Ahmed Choudhury, working president AIUDF central committee, Bilasipara MLA Hafiz Basir Ahmed Rashimi, central committee general secretary, Dr KN Baharul Islam, MLA Salim Uddin Barbuiya and other party leaders.

The party chief Badruddin Ajmal asked the party workers to work with devotion and dedication. He tried to enthuse the party workers by saying that the party would play a decisive role in the State politics in the coming days.

Right from the word go, lashing out at the Congress for its alleged failure was the favourite attacking point of nearly all the speakers. Central committee working president, Hafiz Rasid Ahmed Choudhury took on Excise and Border Area Minister of the State, Gautam Roy and MP LM Suklobaidya, saying that the leaders were efficient talkers. They just talk big. It is their inefficiency that is reflected in the pitiable condition of the region.

Giving the picture of the party performance in the valley, he said, The party came second in the last general elections in Karimganj and Hailakandi. Grassroots workers of the party therefore have every reason to feel optimistic as the party is inevitably destined to make it big in the State politics after the coming elections. He, however, asked the party leadership to conduct more workshops for its workers in every corner of the valley.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA Salim Uddin Barbuiya stated categorically that the foremost election agenda for his party would be to join the government and dropped more than just a hint that the party would not mind joining a Congress-led State Government, if such a situation arises after the 2011 Assembly elections.

It is to be mentioned that the open meeting was held at the playground of Jafargorh HS School Baraigram.
