GUWAHATI, Aug 26 - The Opposition Congress today launched its mass contact programme BJP Sarkar Hisab Diyak, Uttar Diyak (BJP government, give account and answers) with a call to party workers to reach out to the masses across Assam and present an alternative to the ruling BJP.

Harish Rawat, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary, in-charge for Assam and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, formally launched the programme at an event held at Azara here.

Rawat released a booklet, also titled BJP Sarkar Hisab Diyak, Uttar Diyak, on the occasion.

The event was attended by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Ripun Bora, Leader of Opposition in the Assam Legislative Assembly Debabrata Saikia, and other senior party leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, Rawat said the lies of the BJP regime at both the Centre and the State are getting exposed and exhorted the Congress workers to reach out to the masses.

Rawat further said the Congress workers will spread across the State and highlight the misdeeds of the BJP governments to the electorate.
