Cong finalises candidates for 4 State LS seats

NEW DELHI, March 17 - The Congress Party today finalised its second list of candidates for four Lok Sabha seats of Mangaldai, Nagaon, Tezpur and Lakhimpur.

Pradyut Bordoloi has been nominated for Nagaon seat, Bhubaneswar Kalita for Mangaldai, MGVK Bhanu for Tezpur and Anil Borgohain for Lakhimpur.

Bhanu�s nomination ran into trouble after Dr Manmohan Singh raised objection in the CEC meeting to his nomination arguing that Tezpur is a prestigious seat and cultural capital of Assam, therefore nomination of an outsider could spark trouble, sources confided. But it was subsequently cleared.
