Cong failed to find permanent solutions: Rajnath

By Correspondent

BARPETA April 9 - Home Minister Rajnath Singh today accused the Congress of shedding crocodile tears over the people of the State, stating said that nothing has been done by the ruling party to find permanent solutions to the burning problems of the State despite being in power for 15 years.

Addressing an election rally at Na-gaon under the Chenga legislative constituency of Barpeta district this afternoon, Singh said that as far as the BJPs agenda vis-a-vis Assam is concerned, the need is to eliminate poverty and unemployment in order to solve the problems plaguing the State. He also stated that bank loans will be provided to educated unemployed youth to generate self-employment.

The BJP leader stated that the boundary with the Bangladesh will be completely sealed very soon and strict vigil will be maintained along the borders to check infiltration.

Referring to the inter-State river-linking project, Singh made it clear that it has been proposed to maintain the right balance so that no harm is caused to any State nor any side ends up getting undue benefits.

Terming India as the most tolerant and secular country in the world, Singh rejected charges of intolerance made by a section of people in the country. It is only in India that members of all major religions have been living in peace and harmony for centuries, he pointed out.
