GUWAHATI, Feb 25 Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today called upon the party workers to start preparations for the Lok Sabha polls and expressed the hope that the party would be able to win most of the seats in Assam.

Addressing an extended executive meeting of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) at the Sarusajai Stadium this evening, the APCC vice president said that the Congress workers should resist the misinformation campaign of the Opposition parties. He said that after attending the mass rally in the city earlier in the day, he came to know about the strength of the Congress in Assam and asserted that the party is in a position to win all the 14 Lok Sabha seats.

Gandhi said that efforts are on to strengthen the hands of all the Congress workers, and that is why, the party has started selecting candidates for the elections on the basis of the views of the workers. He asserted that no one would be able to wipe out the Congress from the country as the party is in the hearts of the party workers.

The meeting was also addressed by the Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and APCC president Bhubaneswar Kalita.
