NEW DELHI, Aug 11 - Aggressive behaviour of BJP MPs today led Congress Lok Sabha member Gaurav Gogoi and another MP to lodge a written complaint with Speaker Sumitra Mahajan demanding an inquiry into the incident.
In the joint complaint, Gogoi said that while they were protesting inside the House, some BJP MPs surrounded and physically intimidated them. Gogoi alleged that he was physically assaulted by BJP MPs and elbowed around.
Gogoi said it was a serious attempt to hinder their right to protest. He said the Speaker should inquire into the incident through the TV footage.
At the forefront of the Congress protest, Gogoi was suspended last week by the Speaker for five days for displaying placards inside the House along with 24 other MPs.
