TURA, Oct 11 - Cong candidate Christilla M Marak, who is contesting the Babelapara seat against her husband, Admiral Sangma, was burnt with a cigarette butt after refusing to give money to some youths after an election campaign meeting here. The shocking incident happened at Chongnapara village on Friday where Christilla had gone to campaign for the GHADC elections to be held tomorrow.
According to sources, after the meeting, the Cong candidate was asked for money by some youths of the village. When she refused to give them money, one of them who was smoking, burnt her hand with the cigarette. No FIR has been filed till now against the attacker.
