DIPHU, March 2 - The Congress has started intensive poll campaigning to retain the constituencies presently under it in Karbi Anglong.
Meetings and rallies are being organised regularly in every constituency to catch the attention of the voters. As a part of this, a �Gandhi Sabha-cum-Janajagaran rally� was organised here on Monday at the Howraghat Pan Engti playground, where thousands of people from eight Member of Autonomous Constituencies (MACs) under Howraghat Legislative Assembly participated.
While addressing the public, Tuliram Ronghang, Chief Executive Member (CEM), KAAC sought their votes for Kharsing Engti, HAD Minister, Government of Assam in the greater interest of fulfilment of promises, resolution of different problems and round-the-clock development in the district.
Kharsing Engti thanked the large number of supporters who attended the �Gandhi Sabha-cum-Janajagaran rally�. He urged the voters to help Congress win a massive victory. Narrating the past regime of ASDC-CPI (ML) tenure, he strongly criticised the ASDC-CPI (ML). Engti urged workers and supporters to get ready for the upcoming Assembly elections.
Attacking the saffron party, Engti criticised the Narendra Modi-led NDA Government for reducing various funds of schemes. The BJP Government is obstructing development works reducing the funds of different schemes, Engti alleged.
The rally was also addressed by Dr Mansing Rongpi, Parliamentary Secretary, Government of Assam. KAAC EMs comprising Premala Beypi, Bidya Rongpi, Sarat Brahma, Mangol Sing Timung, Lanki Timung and many Congress leaders were present in the Gandhi Sabha-cum-Janajagaran rally.
