Cong Assam in-charge to visit State

By Spl Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Oct 26 - Newly appointed AICC general secretary in-charge for Assam Jitendra Singh is scheduled to tour Assam from November 1-3.

According to sources, Singh is likely to land in Dibrugarh on November 1 and thereafter travel by road to Guwahati during his maiden visit.

Meanwhile, in a significant development just ahead of the Assembly polls, PCC president, Ripun Boras wings have been clipped, as Singh has directed him to take prior permission of AICC before making any organizational appointments and in initiating disciplinary actions.

Sources said that Singh in a letter to Bora referring to appointments and disciplinary actions made in the recent past without prior permission of AICC said, You are hereby advised to ensure that prior approval from AICC is obtained before any such action is taken at any level including State, district and block of Assam Congress.

Sources said that on receipt of the communication from AICC, the PCC president rushed his close confidants to Delhi with a list of new appointments proposed to be made by him but it was not accepted by the AICC general secretary.

Sources said that there is a possibility that all appointments made in the recent past in Assam Congress may be reviewed.
