MORIGAON, June 11 � The ruling Congress party is all set to take over power in Tiwa Autonomous Council (TAC) winning 19 seats out of the total 30, in Morigaon and Nagaon districts. The results of all the 30 seats were declared last night.
In Morigaon district, out of 19 seats, Congress candidates won in 13 followed by Independents in 5 while AGP won only 1 seat.
In Bhurbandha constituency, Nitul Konwar (Cong) defeated Sumeswar Bardoloi (AGP) by a margin of 650 votes. Garmari seat has gone to Dimbesar Bardoloi (AGP). He defeated his nearest rival Joy Ballav Bardoloi (Cong) by 237 votes. In Jamadari seat Bipin Bardoloi (Cong) was declared elected defeating Anup Pator (AGP) by 323 votes. Khiren Bardoloi (Cong) won the Bhumuraguri seat defeating Junti Pator (AGP) by 306 votes.
In Jonbil seat Dipali Boro (Cong) was elected defeating Bijoy Laxmi Daimari (AGP) by 395 votes. Konwargaon seat was won by Jiban Konwar (Ind) defeating Ananta Deori by 182 votes. In Ghagua seat Monorama Bardoloi (Cong) defeated Minaxi Bardoloi (AGP) by 600 votes.
The ex-CEM Rama Deori (Cong) retained the Charipunia seat defeating Sunes Deori (AGP) by 1231 votes. In Nakhola seat Deba Bardoloi (Cong) defeated Sanu Bardoloi by 640 votes. In Damal seat Niraj Bardoloi (Cong) defeated Paban Manta (Ind) by 282 votes. Veteran Congress leader Rina Pator won the Nellie Khola seat defeating Jinaram Pator (Ind) by 1436 votes.
In Barangani seat, Independent candidate Lalita Pator defeated Aruna Pator (Ind) by a margin of 957 votes. In Borchila seat, Dharmendra Bordoloi (Cong) defeated Pradip Konwar (AGP) by 580 votes. In Tetelia constituency, Khagen Bordoloi (Ind) was declared elected defeating Lalit Bordoloi by a margin of 130 votes. In Manipur, Bubul Pator (Cong) defeated Aarakanta Bordoloi (Ind) by 201 votes. In Solmari, Biju Pator (Cong) won the seat defeating Munindra Bordoloi (Ind) by 529 votes. Independent Arun Manta captured the Birubori seat defeating Deben Konwar of Congress by 494 votes. In Gobha seat, Parimal Pator (Ind) defeated Ananta Boro (Ind) by 129 votes.
In Nagaon district TAC constituencies, Congress won in six seats namely Pukhuripaar, Pupakuchi, Kaki, Nambor La Lungaon, Lalungpaar, Kamargaon while Independents won in four seats namely Jungalbalahu, Lutumari, Baropujia and Jarabari. The BJP got only one seat Sahari. Out of a total of 30 of TAC in Nagaon and Morigaon district Congress got absolute majority setting 19 while Independent candidate captured 9 seats. AGP and BJP got one seat each.
