Cong against foreigners in electoral roll

GANGTOK, July 6 � The Sikkim Pradesh Congress today alleged that a number of foreign nationals and people from other States have got their names included in the State�s electoral rolls, thereby enjoying dual voting rights.

A Congress delegation led by the SPCC Senior Vice President KN Upreti in its memorandum submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer V B Pathak at an all party meeting pertaining to the summary revision of electoral rolls here today, also alleged that a large number of people have encroached and settled in the reserved forests, Khasmahal and �Gaucharan� land in an illegal manner and demanded that the names must be deleted from the electoral rolls.

The representatives of Sikkim Democratic Front, BJP and CPIM also participated in the meeting and expressed their full support to genuine and authentic conduct of revision of electoral rolls in the State.

The Electoral Officer advised them to file their complaints and objections about inclusion of names of foreign nationals in the State�s Electoral Rolls in the prescribed forms.
