By Staff reporter

GUWAHATI, July 8 It was a confluence of poetry and drawing at Gauhati Artists Guild that provided the visitors a glimpse into the intricate creative faculty of the participating artists and poets.

Conceptualised by budding artist Phanindra Talukdar, this exhibition titled Cultural Chaos and Arbitrary was an endeavour to know the real through verbal text that is poetry and visual text that is drawing.

On the last day of the show on Friday, poets Anubhav Tulasi, Kushal Dutta and others interacted with the poetry and art lovers and read out their poems eliciting both applause and queries. The listeners raised questions on several issues related to the thematic journey of poets and artists, the societal chaos, the conflict within and outside etc.

With rapid changes sweeping across the country, there has been a cultural degradation and I believe the young people have to play an important role to stop this degradation, said Talukdar adding that this exhibition is an experimental initiative and he was encouraged by the response from the visitors.

One of the participants, artist Pranab Chakravorty of Tripura who has highlighted the issue of identity chaos in his work said that he was concerned about the changes coming in the society.
