GUWAHATI, Jan 30 � To discuss sport as a tool to pursue development goals such as children�s education, peace and youth livelihoods a conference was held at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education, Tepesia which concluded today, stated a release. About 250 practitioners, policymakers and corporate representatives took part in the two-day conference.
The conference was organised by Magic Bus India Foundation, a non-profit organisation working with 250000 children from some of India�s poorest neighbourhoods.
Speaking on the occasion, MP Gaurav Gogoi said, �At the Lakshmibai National institute of Physical Education, I feel a sense of commitment to sports.� Ajay Tiwari, Commissioner and Secretary, Sports and Youth Affairs, Assam was the chief guest in the conference. Subhash Basumatary, Deputy Director, Sports Authority of India, said, �We can build the nation by using sports.
