GUWAHATI, May 5 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today expressed concern over de-recognition of the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital and Jorhat Medical College and Hospital by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
In a statement here today, Gogoi said that he had asked the Chief Secretary to inquire into the circumstances leading to the de-recognition and also to take up the matter with the MCI for re-recognition of the two medical colleges and hospitals.
It may be mentioned that the de-recognition of the Barpeta Medical College and Hospital and Jorhat Medical College and Hospital has jeopardised the future of the students pursuing their studies in these two colleges.
