Concern over anomalies in SEBA textbooks

GUWAHATI, Feb 27 - Expressing concern over the anomalies in textbooks published by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), the Students Federation of India (SFI) has demanded that all the new textbooks published by the SEBA be scrutinised by an expert committee.

The SFI has also demanded a reprint of the textbooks after rectification of the anomalies. It further called for distribution of free textbooks.

Demanding an inquiry into the lapses that led to wrong information such as passing a picture of an actor playing the role of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as that of Netaji in a Class X textbook, the SFI which staged a demonstration at the SEBA office on Friday, said that those responsible for the lapses should be punished.
