By Correspondent

TEZPUR, Feb 22 - A complaint was lodged with the Deputy Commissioner of Sonitpur district Narshing Powar against a teacher (read invigilator) for alleged mental harassment on two brilliant examinees of the ongoing HS final examination.

The complaint letter submitted simultaneously to the Deputy Commissioner, Controller of Examination, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, state Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya and the local media by the parents of the two examinees named Sraban Singh and Sundar Sarma of Tezpur town states that on February 18, as per the official routine, the two brilliant candidates from the Science Academy here appeared for the Physics paper in room number 3 of Tezpur Govt Boys Higher Secondary School examination centre.

However, there was a commotion among the candidates after the distribution of question paper. In the name of dealing with the situation, the invigilator who was on duty in the particular examination hall from St Xavier School here and named Rupak Rai, intentionally snatched the answer scripts from the two candidates, namely Simranjit Kaur and Anwesa Sarma and kept them crying for about two hours.

Despite repeated appeal by the two students, the invigilator refused to give back the answer scripts for which they could not attempt to answer any more question, thereby forcing them into a state of uncertainty.

The parents of the two students have in the meantime sought strong official intervention on the issue by the authority concerned and said that if they fail to get justice, then they would be compelled to move the court against the accused invigilator.
