GUWAHATI, May 20 - The Geetikavi Parvati Prasad Baruva Memorial Trust is organising the annual singing competition of the poet�s songs on June 3 at the Kanaklal Barua Hall of the Assam State Museum here as part of the Jonaki Mel celebrations, stated a press release.
The competition will be held in two age groups: Group A (under 14) and Group B (14 years and above). There will be three cash prizes of Rs 5000, Rs 3000 and Rs 2000 in each category.
The interested persons are requested to be present at the venue at 10 am on that day and contact Nanda Banerjee of Sur Sangam Sangeet Mahavidyalay to register their names. The registration fee will be Rs 150. Participants of Group A will be required to provide age proof at the venue, the release added.
