GUWAHATI, Jan 15 - Naba Kumar Doley, Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Cultural Affairs, Social Welfare, etc, today inaugurated the new office building of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) for its North Eastern (NE) Chapter on the LKRB Road, bylane-1, Nabin Nagar in the city.
Dr Shyam Agrawal, president of ICSI, from New Delhi, SK Agrawala, Council member of ICSI from Kolkata, Siddhartha Murarka, Chairman, Eastern Regional Council of ICSI, and Dr SK Jena, Director, ICSI Delhi, were present during the inauguration.
In consonance with the thrust for inclusive growth by the Govt of India, the ICSI this year had launched a fee waiver scheme for the students of Northeast to bring them to the mainstream of the Company Secretaryship course, in which the students from the region get an opportunity to take admission in CS course free of cost.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Shyam Agrawal said that, the newly created chapter premise of ICSI in Guwahati would benefit the members and students of the entire northeastern region and create a new horizon for contributing towards the region�s economic prosperity by facilitating new startups in the coming years.
�The ICSI has dedicated its energies this year for empowering the students in Northeast by promoting the CS profession in the seven northeastern states,� he further stated.
Amit Pareek, Chairman of the North Eastern Chapter of ICSI, welcomed the Minister and the delegates from Delhi and Kolkata.
The company secretaries, chartered accountants, cost accountants, businessman, lawyers, and educationists and academicians were present at the function.
