SILCHAR, June 23 - In a bid to ensure safe and clean surroundings, Udharbond MLA Mihir Kanti Shone inaugurated a community toilet on Saturday. The toilet, located near the police station of the constituency has been constructed by spending Rs 10 lakh under the untied fund of sanitation scheme. Cachar Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri also attended the inaugural function.
Addressing the people, Shome highlighted the drainage problem faced by the residents. Calling for strict measures against violators of civic rules, he urged the people to make the best use of the toilet and keep the surroundings clean and tidy. Officials of the Department of Public Health and Engineering and local Gaon Panchayat also attended the function.
