GUWAHATI, June 28 - Prof Ramesh Chandra Deka, former director, AIIMS, has been requested by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to accept the chairmanship of a committee formed in compliance with the orders of the Madras High Court to regulate the fees chargeable by self-financed institutions deemed to be universities in the country, stated an official letter issued by UGC.
