Committee against toll plaza to announce agenda today

JORABAT, June 2 - The 70-member committee that was formed at the public meeting at Sonapur on Monday to carry forward the agitation against the toll plaza, will table its agenda at a meeting on Wednesday, deciding on the way the protest would be carried out. The executive body of the committee will be also finalised at the meeting. Monday�s public meeting was called by the Dimoria unit of All Assam Tribal Sangha (AATS).

The new committee has active participation of about 11 organisations, several civil society leaders and general public including the organisations that had been in the core committee formed by the administration.

Meanwhile, the Kamrup Metro unit of AASU has clarified that the student body stands firm in opposing the toll plaza until it fulfils all the requirements for its operation. The AASU unit also said the organisation has no relation with the core committee and also the new committee formed to oppose the toll plaza.
