JORABAT, June 1 - A 70-member committee, consisting of general public, organisational leaders and conscious section of people, was formed at a general meeting called by the Dimoria unit of All Assam Tribal Sangha (AATS) at its Sonapur office to demand a halt to collection of toll at the Sonapur toll plaza that became functional on May 24.
The huge gathering at the meeting expressed resentment at the silence of the representatives of the regional organisations who had earlier opposed construction of the toll plaza.
The 70-member committee formed today will take forward the fight against the toll plaza which allegedly commenced toll collection without completing the NHAI�s norms.
