GUWAHATI, Aug 27 - KC Das Commerce College principal Dr Ghanashyam Nath today alleged that the academic calendar issued by the Gauhati University (GU) authorities for the year 2016-17 has hardly left the scope for holding classes on 30 days for a semester, going against the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) that there should be 90 days of classes for a semester.
Elaborating, Dr Nath said the GU academic calendar for 2016-17 has stated that classes will start from August 1, 2016, for the first, third and fifth semesters. In the second week of September, 2016, sessional (internal test) examinations will start.
