Coffee table book on Raj Bhawan released

GUWAHATI, Sept 9 � Governor of Assam Janaki Ballav Patnaik formally released a coffee table book on Raj Bhavan at the Raj Bhavan Durbar Hall today. The function was organised by the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, Govt of Assam, who are also the publishers of the book.

The book is titled � Raj Bhavan Assam & A Brief History of Guwahati and it contains 196 pages and 344 photographs. The book, has been authored by Samudra Gupta Kashyap and Nitin A. Gokhale.

Releasing the book, the Governor said that almost every Raj Bhavan of every State had a coffee table book of its own. Therefore, it was imperative that the Assam Raj Bhavan should also have one and expressed his satisfaction that finally the job was accomplished. He also extended his thanks to all those who made this possible.

Pranati Phukan, State Cultural Affairs minister, who was also present at the function addressed the gathering and said that she was happy that her department could successfully do the job.

Swapnanil Baruah, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Cultural Affairs department delivered the welcome address at the outset while Hiranya Bhuyan, Deputy Director Cultural Affairs offered the vote of thanks. This was stated in an official press release.
