Co-op officers� memo to government Efficient public service delivery

GUWAHATI, March 9 - The All Assam Cooperative Officers� Association (AACOA) has submitted a memorandum to VS Bhaskar, Additional Chief Secretary, Cooperation Department pertaining to the service conditions of the officers as well as propagation of the cooperative movement in the State for socio-economic development of the people of Assam, especially the people living in rural areas.

The memorandum urged the government to take steps for early notification of the �Assam Cooperative Societies Rules�, �Election Rules of Cooperatives� and the �Assam Cooperative Officers� Service Rules� for facilitating efficient public service delivery.

The memorandum also requested the government to take steps for revamping the �Short Term Cooperative Credit Structure� to achieve the goals of �Doubling of Farmers� Income by 2022�, stated a press release issued by A Rahman and Rupranjan Das, president and general secretary respectively of the association yesterday.
