GUWAHATI, Jan 16 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi�s wife Dolly Gogoi has filed a criminal case with the Basistha Police Station against peasant leader Akhil Gogoi over charges of resorting to forgery for the purpose of harming reputation.
Charges of using as genuine forged documents and printing or engraving matter known to be defamatory were also levelled against the general secretary of the Krishak Mukti Sangram Samity (KMSS).
The case was registered under Sec 469, Sec 471, Sec 500 and Sec 501 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Saturday.
Additional SP (City) Longnit Teron informed that the investigation into the case has begun and relevant papers will be collected tomorrow for scrutiny. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will also assist the city police.
