CM�s order on supply of LPG cylinders

GUWAHATI, May 11 � In view of shortage of LPG cylinders, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department and Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup (Metro) to take immediate action and to ensure that consumers get gas cylinders within the stipulated time.

The Chief Minister directed the Food and Civil Supplies Department to check diversion of domestic LPG cylinders for commercial purposes as well as black marketing of cylinders.

According to an official statement, Gogoi further instructed that a complaint cell under an Additional Deputy Commissioner be set up in each district immediately to deal with public grievances relating to shortage of LPG cylinders and to initiate action accordingly.

Gogoi also directed the Deputy Commissioners to make random checking of LPG cylinder carriers to ensure that these carriers have proper and authentic documents. The overall situation relating to LPG crisis would be reviewed by the Chief Minister after three days, the statement added.
