CM�s Land Record Updation Mission

GUWAHATI, May 3 � The Chief Minister�s Land Record Updation Mission held at the initiative of the Kamrup Metro district administration, was inaugurated at the Lokhra Udayan Kristi Sangha here on Friday.

Inaugurating the programme, Minister for Revenue and Disaster Management Dr Bhumidhar Barman said that till now more than 6,500 cases related to land mutation, partition and conversion have been disposed of in Kamrup Metro district since the start of the special drive in February this year.

Dr Barman said that other districts of the State also should emulate the example of Kamrup Metro.

In his welcome address, Dr M Angamuthu, Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metro stressed the need for creating mass awareness on the issue.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the common people now need not come to the offices of the DCs and circle officers to solve the problems relating to land records. Rather, they can now solve their problems in their local places.

The inaugural programme was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Subhash Das and other senior officials.
