JAMUGURIHAT, Aug 23 - A delegation of senior citizens along with the Jamugurihat Suraksha Aikya Mancha, led by its president Dinesh Mahanta met Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi at Dispur on August 17, and expressed satisfaction at the initiative of the Chief Minister in creating the new district Biswanath.

They also urged the Chief Minister to keep Naduar in Tezpur subdivision of Sonitpur district, as since time immemorial, the Naduar area is with Tezpur. The Chief Minister assured them that the Naduar area will be kept in Tezpur subdivision of Sonitpur district. The delegation also met Revenue Minister, Dr Bhumidhar Barman, Rural Development Minister Rockybul Hussain and they also assured the delegation that Naduar will not be included in Biswanath district. On the basis of the assurance of the Chief Minister and other ministers, the Mancha appealed to the people not to be misguided by rumours spread by a section of people and to keep peace and harmony intact in the area.
