CME event on innovative bio-design at GMCH

GUWAHATI, Dec 7 - Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Assam, in collaboration with IIT Guwahati is organising a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on �Innovative Bio-Design Research Collaboration� at the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) auditorium on December 12.

This CME will be the first of its kind in this region to encourage researchers for innovative collaboration between engineering and medical sciences to invent new technology products for their implementation in patient care, according to a press statement issued by organising chairpersons Prof Dr Ajanta Sharma of GMCH, and Prof AB Kunnumakara of IIT Guwahati, and organising secretary Dr Himamoni Deka, Associate Professor, GMCH.

More than 300 delegates from different medical colleges, IIT Guwahati, Regional Dental College, engineering colleges, Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU), Government Ayurvedic College, Government Homeopathy College and Regional College of Nursing have registered for the CME.

Prof D Kacy Cullen, Department of Neurosurgery, University of Pennsylvania, Dr Avijit Bansal, Founder Windmill Health and Inventor NeoBreathe, New Delhi, and Mridusmita Choudhury, Restorative Therapies Group, Medtronic-Asia Pacific, will be the guest speakers at the CME.

Minister of Water Resources, Science and Technology Keshab Mahanta, Principal Secretary to the Government of Assam, Health and Family Welfare Department Samir Sinha and Director IIT Guwahati TG Sitharam will address the gathering during the event.
