CM visits quarantine facility at Sarusajai

GUWAHATI, May 14 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today visited the quarantine facility set up at the Sarusajai Sports Complex, accompanied by Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

They inspected the facilities made available for screening, registration, testing and quarantine of all symptomatic patients of the State and the people who are returning from outside Assam.

The quarantine centre set up at the indoor stadium of the sports complex with its two extensions has so far provided facilities to 2,286 persons. As many as 1,109 persons have already been released.

Moreover, considering the need of more quarantine facilities in view of a huge number of people of Assam returning, 61 hotels have been earmarked for the people to choose as quarantine centres.

Senior officials of the health department, Kamrup Metropolitan DC Biswajit Pegu, District Development Commissioner Atul Kumar Sarma, Joint Director of Health and others were present during the visit.
