SIVASAGAR, May 4 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today paid a visit to martyr Bipul Bora�s family at their Sivasagar Dhonekhowagaon residence and conveyed his deep condolence to Bora�s wife Dipa Bora, his son, daughter and other bereaved members.

Bora, a Sub-Inspector in BSF laid down his life fighting the Maoists in Chattisgarh on April 4 last. The Chief Minister handed over a cheque of Rs 20 lakh to his wife. While addressing the public in the village, Sonowal said that the supreme sacrifice made by the jawans in defending the country from external and internal enemies will long be remembered by the new generation and will inspire them to serve the country in the days to come.

He was accompanied by Kamakhya Prasad Tasha,MP, Topon Kumar Gogoi, Minister of State for Power, MLA Pradip Hazarika and Kushal Duwori.
