CM unveils Bhupenda�s statue at RGU

GUWAHATI, Nov 13 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika and inaugurated �Royal Swasthya Seva�, �Royal Anna Seva� and the brochure of Royal Aawas, Betkuchi on Thursday, according to a press release issued here today.

Speaking on the occasion, Sonowal eulogised the Sudhakantha for giving the world a song �Ei prithivi ekhon krirangon, krira hol shantir prangon� (The world is a field of sports and sports is the precinct for peace) and along with greats like Swami Vivekananda, has instilled universal brotherhood in people.

Sonowal inspired the students to work with true intentions and empower themselves with knowledge as knowledge is power. He appreciated Royal Global University (RGU) for taking the right steps in education and empowering students with nationalism, knowledge, holistic approach towards life for becoming atmanirbhar, which would then serve the purpose of �sabka saath sabka vishwas saabka vikaas�.

RGU Chancellor Dr AK Pansari spoke about RGU�s vision of providing holistic education to the students at Royal Knowledge Park, instilling in them the spirit of patriotism and sense of nationalism through statues/busts of greats like Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Mother Teresa, AB Vajpayee, APJ Abdul Kalam and the Sudhakantha. The Sudhakantha�s statue would inspire all on universal brotherhood and peace, he added.

Dr Pansari also said Royal Swasthya Seva, a primary healthcare centre with a doctor and free medicines, would cater to the medical needs of people before being referred to government hospitals for secondary care, if required. Royal Anna Seva would feed 100 hungry people across Guwahati one meal every day. Royal Aawas under the umbrella of PMAY, would address the housing needs of people as envisioned by PM Narendra Modi, he added.
