DIPHU, Dec 29 � Poll fever has caught on in the autonomous hill district, Karbi Anglong. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will join the poll campaign for the ensuing 11th KAAC election, slated to be held on January 4.
Besides, other ministers of the State Government are also ready to campaign in various MAC constituencies in Karbi Anglong in favour of the Congress candidates in the fray. The Chief Minister has already got scheduled dates and time for the poll campaign.
According to reports available, the Chief Minister will campaign in favour of the Congress candidate at Bokajan MAC constituency on December 30. At 1 pm, he will address a Congress party rally at Rajapathar for the district Congress president and Congress candidate of Langpher MAC constituency, Sum Ronghang. On December 31, he will address Congress rallies at Baithalangso and Howraghat.
Influential State minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will also be campaigning from January 1. As per the schedule, Sarma will begin his poll campaign at Langpher MAC constituency to back Sum Ronghang and later move to other MAC constituencies for campaigning.
It may be mentioned here that the PAPA and its allies are pulling out all stops to prevent the Congress from coming to power.
