BADARPUR, July 18 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is going to attend a meeting under the banner of Kanaklata Mahila Samaroh at DSA playground in Karimganj on July 24, informed Karimganj district administration officials.
Sources in the administration said that the Mahila Samaroh has been planned to spread awareness among women about various types of projects taken up by the State government for their benefit.
The Karimganj District Information and Public Relation officer (DIPRO), SA Choudhuree said that all the members of self-help groups (SHGs) will take part in the meeting.
Meanwhile, an urgent meeting of the Karimganj District Development Committee was held recently under the presidentship of Karimganj Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Talukder to discuss various issues in connection with chief minister�s programmes.
In the meeting, the district administration decided that 150 tractors, under the Chief Minister�s Rural Development Scheme, will be distributed among the farmers of the district within August 15, and under the crop insurance scheme, sali paddy insurance will be covered within August 31.
In Karimganj district, 24,831 Soil Health Cards have been distributed till now. Besides, in the current year, further 3,729 Soil Health Cards will also be issued.
Addressing the meeting, Karimganj Deputy Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Talukder instructed Karimganj Transport Department to keep a keen watch on autorickshaws of the rural areas to avoid traffic obstacles in Karimganj town.
