CM Tarun Gogoi visits venues of SAF Games

GUWAHATI, Jan 13 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today visited the different venues at the Sarusajai Sports Complex along with some others to take stock of preparations and other ancillary facilities for the 12th South Asian Games to be held here from February 5 to 16.

Chief Minister Gogoi�s visit comes as a part of series of steps being taken to streamline the available sports infrastructure and facilities available in the State. Gogoi was accompanied by several senior officers who took a look at the facilities and work being done.

Chief Minister Gogoi visited the Dr Jakir Hussain Aquatic Complex, Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium, Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Bhetapara Hockey Stadium and the Shooting range at 4th APBN, Kahilipara and instructed the authority concerned to complete the last minute preparations for the games. Gogoi also expressed satisfaction over the steps being taken for putting up the state-of-the-art infrastructure for the South Asian Games.

Raising the security issue for the games, Gogoi said that the matter has been raised and the Centre has assured him of full-proof security for the games, stated a release.
