CM speaks to noted persons over phone

GUWAHATI, May 10 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today spoke to several eminent personalities, sports organizers, social activists and journalists over phone and apprised them of the government�s strategies to break the chain of the coronavirus infection in the State. Sonowal informed them that besides protecting and saving precious lives from COVID-19, the government is working wholeheartedly to create a robust healthcare infrastructure.

He said the government is also working to strengthen the economy, which has been badly hit by the pandemic.

The personalities Sonowal spoke to today include ex-principal of B Borooah College Ambikagiri Roy Chowdhury�s grandson Jagadindra Roy Chowdhury, former head of the Assamese department of Pandu College BP Upadhaya, former MP Dr Arun Sharma, former ambassador to North Korea Binanda Kr Gogoi, journalists Naba Thakuria and Rupam Baruah, businessman Krishna K Goenka, sports organiser Manoj Mohanty, and social activists Gauranga Roy, Dilip Basu and Swapnanil Madhukar.
