CM Sarbananda Sonowal expresses gratitude to COVID-19 warriors in Independence Day speech

GUWAHATI, Aug 15: Delivering his customary speech on the occasion of the country�s 74th Independence Day, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today expressed his gratitude to the COVID-19 warriors including health workers, police personnel and other emergency service workers for their relentless effort.

Hoisting the national tricolour at the historic Judges� Field, Sonowal also paid his tributes to those who lost their lives due to COVID-19 and the perennial flood.

In his speech, Sonowal thanked the COVID-19 warriors including health workers, police personnel and other emergency service workers for their fight against the disease.

Reiterating that the Government is committed towards implementation of Assam Accord in totality, Sonowal specially mentioned that both the Centre and the State Government are committed to implement the Clause VI of the Assam Accord.

�The Centre and State Government have taken requisite steps in this regard and we are going to ensure that the Clause VI is implemented in letter and spirit,� the Chief Minister said.
