GUWAHATI, Oct 5 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today directed Chief Secretary Naba Kumar Das to enquire into the unnatural death of Nilotpal Lahan, husband of Additional Superintendent of Police of the city Leena Doley. Lahan was found dead in an unnatural manner with bullet injury in his body in the Kamakhya area of the city yesterday.
The Chief Minister has also asked Additional Chief Secretary Emily Chowdhury, who is conducting an investigation into the alleged sexual harassment of Leena Doley by IGP Logistic Mukesh Agarwal, to inform him about the progress of the investigation at the earliest, official sources here said.
Meanwhile, police said that forensic tests of the body of Lahan, a senior executive with the Tata Motors, were being carried out today. Lahon�s body bore marks of bullet injury on the forehead. A pistol was also found in his hand, fuelling speculations that it could be a case of suicide.
Police added that it was difficult to ascertain whether it was a case of suicide or murder, and a thorough investigation was needed to pinpoint what led to Lahon�s death.
