GUWAHATI, June 20 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal yesterday launched the highway helpline mobile application of Assam Police � Jaatri Mitra developed in association with Royal Global University (RGU) and Arsaviva Technologies in PPP mode, at Janata Bhawan.
The app, to be available in Android and iOS, will provide real time assistance to the citizens who travel on the State�s highways. Legal Adviser to the Chief Minister Shantanu Bharali, DGP Kuladhar Saikia, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sanjay Kumar Lohia, Commissioner and Secretary of Home Department Ashutosh Agnihotri and RGU Vice Chancellor Prof SP Singh among others were present on the occasion, a release said.
People will be able to access information on all nearby facilities during travel including medical, vehicle repair, fuel stations, police stations and public utilities with this app. It is packed with advanced features like live location tracking and integrates excellently with third party apps like Google Maps and Uber for navigation and bookings. The app would cover 250 police stations, 525 medical points, 628 vehicle repair points, 294 petrol pumps and 756 public utility centres.
The CM said the app would help people in need while travelling. A feedback location is available for users to leave their feedback and any information that can help this platform grow, he said.
