Mangaldai, February 15 : Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday laid the foundation stone of the proposed Assam Skill University at an estimated cost of Rs one thousand crore at Mangaldai.
The foundation laying ceremony of the proposed Skill University which is the first of its kind in Eastern India was also graced by Chandra Mohan Patowary, State Minister of Industries and Commerce, Skill Development, Unemployment, Transport etc, Lok Sabha MP from Mangaldai Dilip Saikia, Mangaldai Legislator Gurujyoti Das and Sipajhar Legislator Binanda Kumar Saikia among others.
The construction of the university with a capacity to teach ten thousand students at a time in twelve different departments is expected to get completed by September 2026 .
