CM intensifies campaign in Titabor

By Correspondent

JORHAT, March 27 - Firing on all cylinders right from the word go, and punching holes in Narendra Modis wish list, Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today sought popular mandate for his victory for the fourth consecutive time in the ensuing Assembly election, while addressing INC campaigns at Borhola, Bokahola, Jalukonibari and many other places of Titabor constituency.

Addressing mammoth gatherings at each of the public meetings, Gogoi said that he had done a lot for all-round development of his constituency and therefore the voters would surely return him again to the Assam Legislative Assembly from the Titabor seat.

Vehemently criticising the BJP for offering false promises of development to the people of the State, Gogoi while addressing thousands of his supporters and party workers claimed that the voters of Titabor constituency knew him better than Prime Minister Narendra Modi of the BJP.

What did the BJP do for our State during the last 22 months of their term in New Delhi, Gogoi asked. In fact the BJP Government at the Centre has deprived our State of its special category status, lamented Gogoi.

He also said that neither the Centre nor the BJP candidate Kamakhya Prasad Tasa could provide job opportunities or Central fund for development of Titabor, though Tasa was elected MP by the voters of the constituency also.

How many youths were provided job opportunities by Tasa, he questioned? What has Tasa done for the development of Titabor. BJP only knows how to attract voters with false promises, said Gogoi.

Earlier, addressing a press conference at Jorhat yesterday evening, Gogoi also criticised the Central Government for not sanctioning the required amount of funds for undertaking developmental activities in the State. However, he said that his party was committed to complete all the incomplete projects if the learned electorate gives them a chance to form Government in the State yet again.
