GOALPARA, Nov 20 - Inaugurating several development projects in Goalpara today, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal while addressing a mammoth gathering at the Goalpara College field said that the State government is determined to fulfill the aspirations of all the people and accordingly has been taking several other initiatives for promoting growth, development and livelihood in the State, both in the rural as well as in the urban areas.
Underlying the State government�s initiatives and reaffirming its commitment of building a strong and confident Assam, Sonowal said that the government has been taking several programmes for the benefit of the poor and other vulnerable sections of society and is in particular taking steps for strengthening of agriculture, rural economy, health care facilities and improving the overall quality of life. Urging all to take up the ideology of music maestro Bhupen Hazarika and Hemango Biswas, Sonowal said that all must work for communal harmony in the society.
Praising the beautiful landscape, scenic beauty and the rich heritage and culture of Goalpara district, he said that the government will wholeheartedly support in building a vibrant Goalpara and he appealed for boosting brotherhood for maintaining peace and harmony in the interest of development of the district. Giving priority to speedy development, Sonowal termed Goalpara as one of the brightest districts in the State and express his happiness at the number of innovative schemes that have been undertaken by the district administration under various development programmes. He assured help to the district administration for the overall growth of the district.
Earlier, the welcome and introductory speech was delivered by the Deputy Commissioner Varnali Deka who highlighted the activities that have been taken up under various development schemes in the district. Among other dignitaries, who were present at the meeting were CEM, RHHAC Tankeswar Rabha, MLA(Dudhnoi) Dipak Rabha, (MLA GoalparaWest), AK Rashid Mondal and a host of other officials.
