HAFLONG, Dec 22 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, accompanied by HAD Minister Sum Ronghang, BJP state president Ranjeet Dass, vice president Langki Phangso, general secretary Phonindranath Sharma, Haflong MLA BB Hagjer and others, inaugurated the newly-constructed BJP office and attended the organisational meeting of the party at Haflong Town Committee field on Friday.
Sonowal while appreciating the people of Dima Hasao for maintaining peace, brotherhood and unity among various tribes and non-tribes living in the district, assured that his government is committed to work for the overall development of the district.
He appealed to the people of Dima Hasao to work hard to make Assam a number one state in the nation and also develop Dima Hasao district. Sonowal categorically affirmed that the district of Dima Hasao will be made the most attractive tourist destination as the beauty of the district is a gift of God. He also said that the budget of the NCHAC has been increased from Rs 146 crore to Rs 161 crore.
State BJP president Ranjeet Dass also appealed to the people of Dima Hasao to support the BJP and secure all the 28 seats of NC Hill Autonomous Council in the forthcoming election for all-round development of the district.
